This project explores the development of modular, tech-enabled shelter units designed to repurpose underused commercial ground floors in Downtown Boston. Through a combination of sustainable architecture, sleeping pods, and an app-based operations platform, ISUs offer adaptable, on demand spaces that respond to shifting urban needs. With features like real time availability tracking and predictive analytics, the system supports uses ranging from private rest areas to temporary caregiving and workstations proposing a data informed approach to more inclusive and flexible urban infrastructure.
